Losses
When a painting has a flaking of paint from the surface, that painting is described as having suffered a "loss".  Can then we call any removal of the essence of something a loss as well?  What does the loss do to the object?  What do we do with the parts lost?  In deconstructing homespun fabric, I created losses and in doing so, made something new.  Loss, for me, is an essential part of my life's fabric.
